Do we need a revision in our thinking?
Should we be looking forward to the end of our lives with joy, or with sorrow? If we are Christians, then no matter how our mortal bodies die, or when they die, we have the assurance of leaving this life and being present with God in Christ.
The world is full of sorrow, but it can also be filled with joy. When our first thoughts are about the sorrow, the suffering, the despair of so many around us, let us go to God in prayer and ask Him to once again revise our thinking, and the attitudes of our hearts. We can look forward to the future with expectation of the wonderful things He has planned for us. Let us not fear tomorrow.
Here is the dictionary definition of revise: reconsider and alter (something) in light of further evidence.
If you do not have the hope of Christ in your heart today, may I ask you to take a look at the evidence of Jesus' great love for you? I want you to be able to look forward to the hope of forgiveness, grace, mercy, and love. To read more about God's great love for you, I suggest starting in the Gospel of John. If you do not have a printed Bible of your own, you can download a free app for your phone, or read it online for free at Biblegateway.com. Just enter John in the passage section, and if you want to you can change the version. The English Standard Version is a good one to start with. Read, pray, ask questions of a Christian friend or a local pastor. Get the answers you need. God's love is so vast, so full, that He wants us all to become a part of His family. May the evidence point you to the heart of God.
