Title: Escape From Mr. Lemoncello’s Library
Author: Chris Grabenstein
Published: 2013
Genre: Middle Grade, Adventure, Puzzle
Summary: Kyle Keeley loved games and puzzles, he also likes books and is super excited when he learns that the famous Mr. Lemoncello who is from his town and made some of Kyle’s favorite games is coming back to town and is building a new library to replace the one that was destroyed many years before. When Kyle learns that there is to be an invitation only lock-in in the library before it opens he makes sure to be one of the invited kids. However Kyle and the other invited kids soon learn that getting in was the easy part. Once they are in the library it becomes apparent that the library is a giant mushed together version of several of Mr. Lemoncello’s many games. Following the clues and solving the puzzles is the only way out.
What I liked about it: The story is full of fun! The characters are fun and clever and the puzzles they have to solve are fun to try and figure out along with the kids. As someone who has always loved books it was fun to see if I could figure out the puzzles before even Kyle and his friends do.

Recommended Age: This book is fun and entertaining for older kids while not being too complicated for younger kids. I would say 9-10 is a good age but even if you are older it is still a lot of fun.
Great review! My children loved this series.
