A day in the life.. of Us!

Each day holds something new, and often exciting, in our lives. Life truly is a great adventure! Our older daughter, Emily, is a social butterfly kind of person, and she loves having something to "do" on her calender for each day. What that means in her mind is "someplace to go!" Maybe you're like that, maybe you love being around other people...if so, use it all for good and God's glory. Shine your light to each person you meet. Smile, say "hello!" How sad might your day be if no one ever greeted you?

Kindness is often under-rated in our society. I think that is part of why I enjoy reading stories about the American frontier, without working together, no one would survive, either natives or immigrants.

Why not make it your mission to be kind to someone new each day?

Some of my all time favorite quotes come from one humble man, Francis of Assisi.

Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary use words.

how about this one?

It is not fitting, when one is in God's service, to have a gloomy face or a chilling look.

or perhaps this one?

It is no use walking anywhere to preach unless our walking is our preaching.

Today we spent time at the Ft Wayne Area Home School (FWAHS) Resource Expo. While I talked with parents interested in learning more about Classical Conversations ( www.classicalconversations.com ), the girls spent time talking with my friend Nellie's children. How cool is it that children can easily meet someone totally new to them and become immersed in a conversation in no time at all? That I would be more like that, that I would allow God to work through me to encourage, inspire, or comfort someone each day.

Tonight we're off to a Graduation open house for one of the 4-Hers in our club. I know it'll be a great time for all of us, as we get to fellowship with like-minded people, and eat some delicious food. Each time we go to an open house, I have the thought in the back of my head..."one day this will be us!" But not yet!

So enjoy your adventure today, and tomorrow, and the next day! Remember to let your light shine, whether you're at home or away, and give praise to God the Father who gave you a life to live--- make it count for HIM!
